Came here for dinner. Food is classic British and cooked to perfection. A substantial plate. On a cold damp night I chose the Chef's pie of the day, on this occasion turkey and bacon on a bed of mash potato, perfectly cooked veg and gravy. Very comforting. We had booked a table in advance online. On a Monday out of season much of Waddesdon is not serving.
For us fortunate as the Lion was excellent. Pleasant surroundings, great service and a nice pint of Timothy Taylor.
They offer B&B too. Maybe next time I go to Waddesdon.

Good food and choice of drinks. Enjoy the meat fridge butchered by the chef. Would recommend to people to try the meat available if visiting the Lion.

Popped in to see the Lions new meat counter, great selection of meats and different cuts. Came home with a local piece of marinated lamb steak, taste was amazing and price was good too. Definitely heading back.

Stayed overnight as we were attending a friend's party at Waddesden Hall nearby [not Waddesdon Manor 😉 ]. The staff were friendly and helpful; our room was clean and looked after. Had dinner and breakfast – both were excellent.
Would definitely consider staying here again.

Recently redecorated room with a great bed and wood flooring. Bathroom nice and big and heating was very effective. Breakfasts were great, although a little slow on the weekend days.

We like the Lion….alot…
We stay in many places but always feel at home when we stay here…. It's a family run place at the heart of the village and it shows.
Our room looked freshly decorated with new double glazing facing the busy A41 so not noisy. If you are a very light sleeper I suggest you request a room at the back or in the annexe.. There is plenty of free parking at the rear of the pub.
We had a delicious dinner with friends from the village… 6 of us having multiple courses plus several bottles of wine, beers and digestifs to finish totalling a very reasonable £40 per person.
Slept really well and enjoyed a delicious breakfast this morning…

Stayed over the weekend because of the close proximity to Waddesdon Manor. The staff were friendly and really helpful, the rooms are basic but clean and looked after and the breakfast was fantastic.
Will definitely be staying again ☺️

Don’t know about the rooms. Went to it as a pub. Nice local full of regulars. Great service and good food. Had the fish and chips and a madri so all good. Nice friendly pub near Waddesdon manor.

A little treasure in Oxfordshire! Rooms are nice, very clean and spacious. The food was incredible and service was spot on. I had steak pie and was one of the nicest I have ever had. I travel here with work so will definitely be back.

I stayed in Room 2, a beautiful large room, very comfortable. I came for work and used the wifi in the evening. I made two video calls no issues. The lady in reception was kind and helpful. Acres of parking. They were closed until 5 so had to come back to check in. Other than that, no complaints. I’ll be back!
